Het Collectief is experiencing a very intense and exciting autumn, richly filled with world premieres and new repertoire.
We kick off the new season at the Lageder wine estate in Magrè, Tyrol. This year, the Dutch composer Mathilde Wantenaar is a guest in the VIN-o-TON series. At the beginning of October, we will play her latest work 'Lieder der Vergänglichkeit' with the soprano Katrien Baerts.
The next project on the calendar is also all about new creation: 'Specchio' by Johannes Schöllhorn was commissioned by Collegium Vocale and Het Collectief and will immediately be performed in four European countries, flanked by music by Gérard Grisey and Orlandus Lassus.
The young French horn player Félix Roth joins us for a concert in the Bijloke with horn trios by György Ligeti and his student Hans Abrahamsen.
Maurice Maeterlinck, our Belgian Nobel Prize winner for literature, takes center stage in a very special concert in a chamber orchestra setting.
We will perform a new version of 'Pelleas und Melisande', the hyperromantic opus 5 by Arnold Schönberg. The young German Levi Hammer succeeded in reducing the gigantic line-up of this piece to 13 musicians. A big challenge for the arranger as well as for the performers...
