Olivier Messiaen’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps has graced the calendar of Het Collectief without interruption since the very beginning. The haunting story of its creation, together with the originality and eloquence of the music, continues to stir audiences deeply. This season, you too can experience it in Namur and Heusden-Zolder, where the journey begins with exquisite pages by Debussy, Ravel, and Dutilleux.
In one of Ghent’s most splendid chamber music halls, Het Collectief takes the stage in a fiery violin–clarinet–piano formation. Alongside the indispensable repertoire of Stravinsky and Bartók, we unveil hidden gems by Ives, Ustvolskaya, and Van Camp.
The latter, Bram Van Camp, also joins us at the Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna, where, in dialogue with the music of the great Viennese modernists, we will present recent chamber works by Thomas Adès and Olga Neuwirth. The season comes to a close in the Kempen with a program devoted entirely to the Hungarian masters of chamber music: Bartók, Kodály, and Ligeti.
