At the end of September, Het Collectief will travel to Poland for a very special concert. We have been invited to play Olivier Messiaen's 'Quatuor pour la fin du temps' at the place where the work was composed and performed for the first time, namely in the town of Zgorzelec. During the Second World War Messiaen was imprisoned there in the prisoner of war camp Stalag VIIIa.
On October 17, Het Collectief will play a concert in the brand new 'Polderbos' crematorium in Ostend. The ‘Classical music and Architecture’ concert series invites ensembles to put together concert programs that match the specific architectural qualities of the different locations. In this way, the series links the interest in architecture with that in the latest classical music.
