With the 'Quatuor pour la fin du temps', the Brussels ensemble Het Collectief presents one of the most striking works of 20th century chamber music. Olivier Messiaen created this apocalyptic vision in 1941 in the Stalag VIIIa prisoner of war camp in Silesia.

Het Collectief also contributes to the festivities for the centenary of Pierre Boulez. This "pope" of contemporary musical life in Paris and far beyond practiced a strict serial style as a young composer, in line with Schoenberg and Webern.

During the "Deep Listening Day" at the Concertgebouw in Bruges, Het Collectief puts Karel Goeyvaerts in the spotlight. This Flemish avant-garde composer gained international fame for his pioneering role in serial music but was also active in a number of alternative styles.
