Hommage to Reinbert
Reinbert de Leeuw (NL - 1938-2020) brilliant conductor, composer and arranger, made an exceptionally refined arrangement for 15 instrumentalists and 2 soloists of Gustav Mahler’s 'Das Lied von der Erde'. This arrangement had never been recorded but it's been made with Het Collectief (B) and soloists Lucile Richardot (F) and Yves Saelens (B).
Beginning of January 2020 we had our recording sessions at the magnificent concert hall Muziekgebouw ’t IJ in Amsterdam. In June we finished the master take and we can already say that this recording will overwhelm the listener by its impetus and stillness, but likewise by the extremely refined joy of chamber music playing, which will lead to the pure magic in the last part, ‘Der Abschied’. September 11th and 13th 2020 we launched this CD recording at Muziekgebouw 't IJ Amsterdam (NL) and Fondation Royaumont (F).

And if you would like to discover the 3 recordings we've made with Reinbert de Leeuw...besides the 'Das Lied von der Erde' recording, Het Collectief made also two other CD recordings with Reinbert de Leeuw: 'Berg & Zemlinsky Lieder' (Katrien Baerts, soprano) and 'Rikadla' (with Collegium Vocale Gent). A very nice triptych... For the 3 CD's you pay € 65 shipping costs included.
